If you suspect you may have Lyme disease, or have been diagnosed with it and are experiencing mental fog, concentration problems or language difficulties, it is definitely worth consulting a specialist – primarily a neurologist who is experienced in recognising neurological symptoms associated with Lyme disease (e.g. Dr Durovska). A doctor who is knowledgeable about Lyme disease can reliably diagnose these very common symptoms and, if other Lyme symptoms are present, perform a differential diagnosis (e.g. Dr Esztó).
The diagnosis and further treatment strategy in such cases are based on a combined assessment of the symptoms, medical history and previous tests (serological or direct tests). If you are already receiving antibiotic therapy, it is very important that it is appropriate, personalised and, in general, combined, so that the bacteria are more likely to be destroyed.
Do not wait until your symptoms worsen: proper professional guidance and targeted, personalised treatment can significantly improve your daily functioning and quality of life.
