As 2025 draws to a close — which brought with it the end of a two-year world tour and an unexpected diagnosis of Lyme disease — the musician and his wife, Jessica Biel, are focusing all their energy on his recovery, a source close to Biel tells PEOPLE.
“Justin seems to be doing well. After the gruelling tour and his Lyme disease diagnosis, he is now focusing on his health,” the source said. “Jess is supporting him in every way. She wants Justin to get completely better.”
Timberlake, 44, and Biel, 43, married in 2012 and have two sons: Silas, 10, and Phineas, 5.
The “Mirrors” singer revealed in July that he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease, just one day after the final concert of his Forget Tomorrow world tour.
“I’ve been dealing with health issues for a while now, and I’ve been diagnosed with Lyme disease — not to get sympathy, but to shed light on what I’ve been going through behind the scenes,” Timberlake wrote. “If you’ve been through this disease or know someone who has, you know: it can be mentally and physically draining on a daily basis.”
The star wrote that he was “shocked” by the diagnosis, but at the same time realised that it explained his symptoms.
“At least I understood why I was on stage with nerve pain, why I was extremely tired or felt sick,” he said. “I had to decide: should I stop touring or continue and find a way to manage it?”
In the end, she chose the latter because, in her opinion, “the joy that performing brings far outweighs the temporary strain on her body. I am very glad that I continued.”
He added that the fact that he persevered despite his illness “proved his own mental endurance” to himself.
“I have experienced so many special moments with you that I will never forget. I was hesitant to talk about this because I was raised to keep these things to myself,” he wrote. “But I’m trying to be more open about my struggles so that no one misunderstands them. I’m sharing all of this because I want us to connect with each other more. And I want to help others who are living with similar illnesses.”
A family source told PEOPLE in August that the diagnosis brought “clarity” to the former *NSYNC member and that Biel has been “incredibly supportive” during this difficult time.
The source added that Timberlake initially thought the fatigue and pain were just a normal part of ageing and touring. Over time, however, he realised that the situation was more serious, and he “had to fight for months” before finally getting an answer.
Another source said in October that Timberlake and Biel remained completely united amid Justin’s health struggles: “Even when life is difficult, they are very committed to their marriage. They are happy and united.”
